If you’ve been asked to specify electrical units on a multi workstation scenario, it’s important to understand how power is getting to the workstations, as this will determine how many outlets you are allowed and what connectors are on the end of the cables.

If your workstations are being powered via a 13Aplug, then it’s essential you understand BS6396. BS6396 sets out the rules of how many power outlets you are allowed from the 13A plug. You are allowed 6 sockets individually fused at 3.15A and 150W of ELV (USBs). 

If power is coming up from the floor via conduit, then you will likely require a PDU with the correct connector to accept the under floor power.
